Employers have a responsibility to ensure the staff they employ are aware of their rights, that they have read and signed an employment agreement settings out the terms and conditions of their employment, been issued with a Fair Work Information Statement and completed employment forms required by the ATO.
It is recommended the church includes and requires the employee to sign a Position Description. Position Descriptions outline the tasks and responsibilities of the employee, so both parties have a clear understanding of what is expected.
These listed documents are downloadable to assist churches comply. CCCVaT recommends the employee and church seek qualified advice prior to signing the employment agreement.
