Stewards Foundation of Christian Brethren (SFCB) provides financial services and support to Christian Community Churches, schools and associated services in Australia. We have been doing this for over 50 years.
Our primary aim is to provide funding and support so that our churches, schools and ministries can grow, flourish and help others.
We help churches with their investments, loans and insurance. We can also act as a trustee for matters connected with use, management and maintenance of church-owned properties.
Our structure
As the holder of an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFS Licence No 458495), the Foundation is required to meet a range of compliance and risk management conditions. AFS licences are issued by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC), which regulates the provision of financial services in Australia.
SFCB’s fundraising activity comes within the definition of banking business under the Banking Act 1959, and APRA has exempted SFCB from the requirement to be authorised under the Banking Act.
This means SFCB is not prudentially supervised by APRA and contributions to SFCB do not obtain the benefit of the depositor protection provisions of the Banking Act 1959.
SFCB is also a charity within the meaning of Regulatory Guide 87 and Class Order 02/184 issued by ASIC.
