Australia is home to over 200 Indigenous tribes and language groups, who have lived throughout the continent and the surrounding islands, for thousands of years. Many Indigenous Australian Christians have amazing life stories that show how their Christian faith has positively impacted their lives, families and communities and helped them overcome significant obstacles and disadvantage – such as addiction, illness, poverty and lack of education.
The objective of this project is to promote this unique Indigenous Australian perspective of walking with Jesus in our daily lives.
In 2015, over 10,000 Australians and many people from other nations participated in our national 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting and countless lives were changed through that time.
We have produced 40 short films of 40 Indigenous Christians from many different localities across Australia telling their life stories and we’re releasing one short film every day during the 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting from 10th February to 20th March 2016.
Our hope is that these stories will go viral on the Internet during this time. We believe these stories will contribute to healing and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians and have a positive impact in remote Indigenous communities, because the stories give hope that real, lasting, positive change is possible, even in the most difficult of circumstances.
The finished films will be broadcast quality and will be shown on television and made available via YouTube and DVD.
