David Wilson

Dr David Wilson was raised in the Brethren Assemblies being the son of Dr Clifford Wilson, an elder in the Assemblies for many years. He has since served in Wesleyan Methodist and Baptist denominations, and has had a speaking ministry across many churches and church agencies including CCCVaT. He is married to Debbie and they have four adult children and sixteen grandchildren.

David taught at Kingsley College for over 25 years and was its Principal for 18 of them. He continues to teach at a number of Colleges in an adjunct role. His degrees cover the areas of theology, psychology, counselling, and the social sciences. He has also been an elected Councillor with the City of Melbourne, the Director of Sophia Think Tank (Bible Society public theology) and the CEO of Urban Seed, a community development agency working mainly with homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health issues.

David has recently retired from paid employment and is enjoying the freedom this gives him to fulfil his passions of preaching, teaching, training, and mentoring. He loves the Bible and is keen to help people discover its depth of relevance to the everyday issues of today. He believes in the local church as God’s gift to neighbourhoods the world over and is committed to helping churches fulfil their local mission as embedded agents of God in Australia’s neighbourhoods.

David is available on Sundays for preaching and at other times for training and mentoring. There is no charge for these services although travel costs would be received gratefully.

CCCVaT Comment:
David is a well known and gifted speaker in the Brethren movement and is in constant demand to speak at our churches. He has been recruited many times by CCCVaT to speak at its events and recently delivered the final message at the CCCAust National Conference.
