Eleven88 has a core team of young teenage girls whom they disciple. Together they create and choreograph routines with a powerful message to reach young people. Eleven88 work in the local high schools running dance programmes where they aim to journey with the students using dance as a tool to connect with them. From this stepping stone, God continued to open more doors:
Dance Camps where the team could share their faith openly, which is not possible in the schools. They’ve seen over 30 young people come to know Jesus through these camps.
Workshops, the most influential being Pretty Hurts, about body image. In these workshops, the team uses dance, stories and videos to build self-worth and let teens know they have a hope and a purpose in this life.
Lauren Stebbins is the Team Leader of Eleven88 Dance Ministry and is employed by CCCVaT on a part-time basis and at Upstaged Dance and Performance Studio as a Dance Teacher. Lauren has a heart for dance and seeing young people reach their potential. This passion led Lauren to develop Eleven88 Dance.
Lauren holds a Certificate IV in Business Management and is currently completing a Bachelor of Ministry to further equip her for Ministry. Through Eleven88, Lauren and the team provide schools, churches and the wider community with the opportunity to engage in Dance Programs, Workshops with topics such as Body Image, Discipleship Groups, Mission Trips, and Dance Camps. These initiatives provide young people an opportunity to explore and develop their self-worth through dance in the context of a safe and supportive environment.
