The LEG supports churches that have someone from their congregation currently participating in one of The EL Program’s (elprogram.com.au/individual) year-long leadership development programs. Through the LEG, a church can employ that Emerging Leader in a paid, practical ministry role — giving them real ministry experience and mentorship, while resourcing the church’s own ministry to its congregation and community.

Participating churches take on the employer responsibilities for the role (payroll, superannuation, insurance, and background checks for supervisors and mentors), commit to providing a trained mentor and supervisor for the Emerging Leader, and work with CCCVaT to set clear objectives and measurable outcomes for both the church and the Emerging Leader over the course of the grant. CCCVaT contributes toward the cost of employment, with the church funding the balance.
